Our Value Proposition

The New Zealand Manufacturing Alliance is an unincorporated group of business leaders representing a range of industries within New Zealand’s manufacturing sector. We come together to provide advocacy on the overarching matters of interest to all manufacturers in New Zealand.

If you have any questions about or wish to provide input into our work, please reach out to the industry body above you are most closely linked to.

We’ve found an efficient way to organise ‘strength in numbers’: We are a group of industry leaders  who trust each other and hence can collaborate effectively without any formal framework

There also is strength in variety – we come from different backgrounds, have different professional skills and experience, and are representing different industries. Hence, we can speak with confidence and deep subject matter expertise on a range of topics and policies

We have ‘mana’. Through our work over the past five years, we have earned the respect especially of those in government we are interacting with regularly

We work to support and advocate on behalf of manufacturing in general, but also lend our support in battles fought by individual member organisations in their respective sub-sectors

TINA – There is no alternative, when it comes to representing the interests of New Zealand manufacturers through people whose sole focus is the manufacturing sector.

Our Policy Goals

•Removal of the constraints of the supply of suitably skilled labour

Access to Capital for Growth and Productivity Improvement

Innovation Support that is Fit for Purpose

•Clear and consistent policy settings for a secure supply of energy at stable cost

Empowering New Zealand’s manufacturers to succeed in a world where domestic subsidies and other measures increasingly threaten their global competitive position

We welcome the appointment by the new government of a Minister for Small Business and Manufacturing and trust that Minister Bayly will receive support from government agencies as required.

You will find the details on and the rationale behind these goals here
